WebCT Download Problems

The most common download problem is getting an incorrect file name and file contents. This occurs with Windows Internet Explorer 5.5, service pack 1, which has this problem with WebCT and other systems.

First, Check Your Version of IE

Go to the Help menu in Internet Explorer, and select "About Internet Explorer." If you are running version 5.5, service pack 1 ("SP1"), you need to patch to service pack 2.

Patching On-Campus Machines

If your machine is running the KSU standard install of Windows 98, you can patch on-line. Go to the start menu, select "Novell Application Launcher" and double click on "IE_5_Win98D."

Other Machines

Go to the download area of the Microsoft web site, and find the "Service Pack 2" patch for Internet Explorer 5.5. If you have Netscape, you could also switch to that (but see link below for recommended browsers).
