Issues with Multiple Designers in WebCT

You can add any existing WebCT account as an additional designer (instructor) in your course. Information on Adding Accounts to a WebCT Course is also available.

Caution is advised due to the fact that any designer has complete control over the course.

Major Issue - No Distinction between Different Designer Accounts

All designer accounts in a course have the same "identity" as far as the students are concerned. All mail and discussion postings from any designer account will be "from" whoever/whatever is listed as the instructor's name in the "Course Settings" area.

Partial Solutions

• List the instructor name as "Staff" or "Instructors" and try to remember to put individual names on each message.
• Add secondary instructors as "TA's" or "Students" if they need to communicate in the courses but not to change course content.
